I am one year older today. I am having a hard day, having been up a lot with Seth last night, and then parenting Benjamin through his many rough spots and misbehavior. There have been moments, though, that were sweet- Lily fixing me scrambled eggs & bacon in bed, ben putting two big tomatoes in a bowl for me, with a cup of ice water; the kids and my mom singing "happy birthday", looking at seth- my darling present that i've worked so hard for and love so much; laying with liam; spending time with my sistah in the burgh- Stacey- at her house, with yummy oatmeal raisin bread and fresh cherries as a snack, and gifts of a BG & H magazine subscription and a bouquet of daisies. Lily wrote me two letters and put them in the mailbox, which were delightful to receive; tom came home early from work to make me my favorite meal- salmon- and lily has been busy baking me a 2 layer cake (dairy free)for dessert. so despite having raw, burning nipples, no central air (its a hot one today) and some parenting challenges, i am happier than ever, here on my 37th big one.
